Lowestoft Centre


Lowestoft, the most easterly town in the United Kingdom, was established as a fishing village in the early 14th century but the decline in the fishing area has seen a substantial decrease in the number of vessels fishing from our town. It now has a thriving tourist industry with close links with Great Yarmouth making it a popular holiday destination for holidaymakers. The town prides itself on having won the European blue flags for the cleanliness of its beaches. It receives many thousands of visitors each year, the busiest time being over the two-day air show, where 450,000 were in attendance over the two-day period in July 2001.


Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park


Situated on the beautiful East Coast near Lowestoft Suffolk, Pleasurewood Hills is an award-winning family theme park.

Established in 1983, Pleasurewood Hills is home to your favourite rides, shows and attractions including the one of a kind Cannonball Express and the region’s biggest rollercoaster attraction, Wipeout. The park has been a popular destination for generations, and is home to the park’s much loved mascot and the region’s beloved cuddly friend, Woody Bear.


Carlton Marshes Suffolk Wildlife Trust


Carlton and Oulton Marshes is a 151 hectare nature reserve in Lowestoft in Suffolk. It is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. Carlton Marshes is part of the Sprat's Water and Marshes, Carlton Colville Site of Special Scientific Interest, the Broadland Ramsar internationally important wetland site, the Broadland Special Protection Area under the European Union Directive on the Conservation of Wild Birds, and The Broads Special Area of Conservation. Carlton and Oulton Marshes are separated by Oulton Dyke. Birds of prey include marsh harriers, barn owls and hobbies, and there are many wintering wildfowl and breeding waders.


Claremont Pier


The Claremont Pier is a traditional seaside pier in Lowestoft in the English county of Suffolk. Opened in 1903 and named after nearby Claremont Road, the pier was sectioned during the war through fear it could be used for an enemy invasion. It was subsequently restored using a Bailey Bridge and used as a training facility for the army.


Lowestoft Maritime Museum


Lowestoft Maritime Museum is a private museum in the town of Lowestoft in Suffolk, England that is dedicated to local and national maritime history. Its exhibits include maritime artefacts including medals awarded to Royal Navy and RNLI personnel, marine art, the fishing industry in Lowestoft and the town's involvement with the Royal Navy in World War II, shipwrights and coopers tools, an extensive collection of ship models in various scales, the workshop of Christopher Cockerell, the inventor of the hovercraft, and a small display dedicated to Thomas Crisp, a local man who posthumously won the Victoria Cross during World War I.
